From Teenage Hustler to Entrepreneur and Mom of Three

Today on JobLockss.com, we’re sharing the story of Amna Khan—a self-made professional whose journey started long before most people even get their first ID card. From her early days in sales at just 17 to running her own cloud kitchen while raising three kids, Amna’s path has been anything but ordinary. Her story is about learning on the go, taking chances, and building something meaningful with whatever resources she had at each stage of life. Lets hear this out!

I started my professional journey at a very young age—around 17, if I remember correctly. I didn’t even have my ID card at that time, but I was full of ambition and eager to start working. My first job was at a software house in Islamabad where I worked in inside sales. I stayed there for about six to seven months, and it really helped me discover my passion for sales. I had a good pitch and a natural drive for growth.

After gaining some experience, I took a big leap and founded my own company called The Sellers. I was the CEO, and this company offered a range of services including recruitment, software development, content creation, content writing, sales, direct sales, and B2B sales. Leading The Sellers was a huge learning curve for me—it gave me deep insight into building a business from scratch, managing teams, and handling clients across different sectors.

Alongside running my company, I continued my freelancing journey. I had actually started freelancing when I was just 14, mostly focusing on content writing. Over time, I handled a variety of projects like website content and copywriting, through different references and networks. I was always eager to learn more, so I kept improving my skills by learning from seasoned writers who guided me along the way.

Later, I joined Salik Associates as their Digital Marketing Manager. One of the proudest moments of my career was leading a marketing project for the Pakistan Army in Mangla, where I was responsible for their marketing strategy and content creation. That experience really strengthened my confidence and leadership skills.

I then moved on to the real estate sector, working as a Digital Marketing Manager for a company based in Rawalpindi. I managed marketing campaigns for several real estate projects, gaining valuable experience in a new industry.

After years of working in digital marketing and business development, I decided to follow another passion of mine—cooking and baking. That’s when I launched Mamma Mia’s Kitchenette, a cloud kitchen based in Islamabad. It’s a brand I’ve built from the ground up, and I manage it with the help of a small but dedicated team.

Today, as a mom of three kids, I juggle multiple roles. I manage my home, continue to work on digital marketing projects remotely as a freelancer, and run Mamma Mia’s Kitchenette. It’s a lot to balance, but my passion keeps me going every single day.

Looking back, my journey has taught me that age and circumstances don’t define what you can achieve. With determination, a willingness to keep learning, and the courage to take risks, you can build the life and career you dream of. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m excited to keep growing from here
